Northside Hot Water & Gas was founded in 2014 by a master plumber who'd spent ten years on general jobs and decided the best work was happening at the edges — the gas fitters and the hot water specialists kept getting called back to clean up generalist installs.
So we narrowed down. Hot water systems and gas fitting. That's the whole business. We don't rotate between drain-clearing on Monday and a roof-leak on Tuesday. Our five licensed gas fitters wake up thinking about flue clearances, BTU sizing, and continuous-flow gas-line upgrades.
The result — jobs done once, signed-off the same day, with compliance paperwork that holds up at sale-of-property. Over 2,800 jobs completed across Albion, Hamilton, Ascot, Clayfield, Wooloowin, Nundah and the surrounding northside suburbs.

For common units — Rheem, Rinnai, Aquamax, Bosch, Dux — we stock replacements on the van and can usually have hot water running again the same day if you call before midday. Less common units may need a day's lead time. Either way, we'll tell you up-front, not on arrival.
Yes — any new gas appliance, new gas line, or alteration to an existing installation legally requires a QBCC-licensed gas fitter to issue a Form 4 Certificate of Compliance. We include this in every gas job as standard and email a digital copy within 24 hours. Cash-job gas work is illegal and uninsurable.
It depends on your household size, gas access and roof orientation. Continuous flow gives you endless hot water and is cheaper to run than electric peak-rate, but a 2-person household on solar power may be better off keeping electric with a timer. We'll do a no-obligation assessment and tell you straight — we lose money quoting the wrong system.
A plumbing licence covers water, drainage and sanitary. A gas fitting licence is a separate endorsement that covers gas pipework and appliances — the two qualifications don't overlap. Every Northside team member holds both, which is why we can handle hot water (plumbing) and gas (fitting) on the same job without sub-contracting. Many "plumbers" can't legally touch gas.
